There comes a time in life

When you’ve had the pile of shit

You’ve seen all the trouble and strife

You’ve fallen again & again, been hit and hit

You’ve risen many times back on your feet

On your toes with unyielding wit

Living with rejection but you won’t accept defeat

Having that mindset, the strength to not give a shit

It’s never personal this life we live

But is sure can feel so no matter what they say

I’ve been called all sorts; stupid, useless, the playground div

But that’s just life, it’s the price we all pay

There comes a time is life where you have to say

Not me. Not I, no longer will life keep me down

I’ve raised the bar high and far, this is my day

I will not listen to bad voices, will not frown

The time to succeed is already in me

I want the world to see the one I’ve hidden inside

It’s time for all of you to leave me to be

The I, myself, one more triumphant stride

For I am deserving of praise, to be loved

Like no other my ultimate undoing was pride

To laugh, dance and spin with delight
